I have to admit that I am not very well informed on breast cancer. At least not as well as I should be. I learned a thing or two about it in Genetics, and I’m sure I’ll get the chance to learn more later in my science career, but for being a biology student with a strong interest in healthcare, I just don’t know enough. Breast cancer claims the lives of over 500,000+ people annually. Many of us know someone who is or was affected by breast cancer. Seeing as how October is the national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought I’d spice things up around Zen College Life to help raise awareness!
For those of you who aren’t aware of the basics of this disease, click here and read a little bit about it.
After that check out these great breast cancer resources, each a mountain of valuable information along with links to donate to great causes, be it for research, to help the patients, or to help pay for free mammograms for women in financial need of them.
National Breast Cancer Foundation
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
We all owe our lives to great women, and this is our chance to show appreciation. Give a dollar or a thousand, wear a pin, hug a woman. Let’s show them we care, we support them, and that we want to help find a cure.
Extra Incentive
Anyone who donates anything $1.00 or more, send me a copy of the confirmation (admin[at]zencollegelife[dot]com) and I will include a dofollow link to your site in my blogroll (family friendly sites only). It’s the least I could do to help support such an important cause, and to help motivate others who need the extra push.
Take care everyone!
