I love making To-Do lists.  Especially for occasions like spring break and summer.  I know the last post was about things to do this summer, but I didn’t write it, and I couldn’t just let John have all the fun now could I?  Here’s my list of things to do this summer.  Enjoy!

  • Get outside: whether it’s sports, picnics, or camping, summer is a great time to reconnect with nature.
  • See a show:  sporting events, concerts, comedy shows and more. Be entertained.
  • Get a job: Summer is a great time to make a little money.
  • start a website: you wont have time to start a project like this during the semester. Here are more reasons [intlink id="723" type="post"]Why You Should Have a Website[/intlink].
  • Learn to cook: a super valuable skill that you’ll be glad to have learned.
  • Read, read, read:  there’s a whole new world waiting for you under the cover of your next book.
  • Hit the beach:  work on that base tan, nobody wants to see the pasty you.  Don’t forget the sunblock.
  • Invent something: some of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had were trying to build or invent things.
  • Visit museums and zoos:  always fun and educational.
  • Make a movie: this will be entertaining for years to come.  My friends and I make tons of movies, and they are always fun to watch later on.
  • Build a time capsule:  Make your mark in history with a time capsule.
  • Take a first aid class: It’s always good to be able save lives when the necessity arises.
  • Make t shirts: my fiance and I love making t shirts with different funny messages.
  • Go swimming:  more fun in the sun, right?
  • Write:  it doesn’t matter what you write, it’s a fantastic way to exercise the old brain and keep things sharp.
  • BBQ:  there’s nothing quite like a backyard barbeque with friends and family.
Create a summer soundtrack: in the coming years you will hear these songs and have fond memories of this summer.
  • Grow a plant: get some seeds and grow a green thumb.
catch up on movies: it’s summer, it shouldn’t be all work and no play.
  • Water wars: get supersoakers, water balloons, buckets, hoses, whatever you can to build an arsenal.  Then plan your attack.
  • Volunteer: the summer is a great time to get some volunteer hours in, plus it’s a great experience.
  • Try something new: expand your horizons, do something you’ve never done before.
  • Ride a bike: remember that thing with 2 wheels that you loved as a child?
  • Slumber party: whether its girl talk or an xbox night, slumber parties are fun for all.
  • Start a project:  I like instructables.com.  All sorts of people doing all sorts of different projects, with instructions and all.
  • Spontaneous road trip: destination forward.  You don’t need to know where you’re headed, just wing it.  It will definitely make for a fun experience.
  • Connect with old friends: this is why I love facebook.  Easy access to all friends, old and new.
  • Theme park: nothing says summer like a hot day at the theme park.
  • Board games: You’d be surprised how fun a pictionary night can be.
  • Meet new people: summer is a great time to get out and socialize.
  • Cut your own hair: don’t worry, it will grow back.
  • Meditate:  It may seem like a cooky thing to do, but try it, you may find it to be pretty exhilarating.  Try this.
  • Learn a new trick: good ole magic tricks to keep everyone entertained.  Youtube has plenty of videos showing you how to do these.
  • Treat your city like it’s foreign: Do what the tourists do, go where they go.  Experience your city like it’s a vacation.
  • sleep in: it may not be the most productive way to spend the day, but it sure feels great.
  • hold a contest: my friends and I have all sorts of contests: fitness, movie making, gaming, and many others.
  • Write the story of Summer 2009: Make it a great one!
