A new semester is upon us. And with this great semester we are given a gift. This gift is a chance to better ourselves; not just academically, but to further our growth in every aspect of life. We are given a chance to improve on our weaknesses and further our strengths. With the new semester there are researchers around the globe working towards bettering human existence, furthering human growth, and aiding in world suffering from all corners of the world. It becomes our duty, our responsibility to do the same.
We must better ourselves in every way possible. We must utilize every ounce of energy towards becoming the best version of ourselves; a version useful not only for earning a paycheck, but for aiding mankind everywhere. With great power, with great intellegence, and with great opportunity comes great responsibility. If you are reading this now, you already have so much more opportunity than billions of people.
I know I’m not the only one who feels this responsibity to contribute to human existance. I can’t be. There are too many teachers, too many doctors, too many firemen, too many scientists working so hard every day so that we may have a better, more opportune chance at life. Given this fantastic amount of opportunity, I can only show my gratefulness through working hard, achieving the highest grades possible, learning as much as I can, and using my knowledge in a way that helps not only myself but those around me, and anyone else that I can as well.
So we welcome this new semester. We embrace it like its the key to unlocking the secrets of life. In fact, we believe it is. That’s why we are here. That’s why we do what we do. As long as there is work to be done, we’ll be here doing it. And once all is well, we’ve ended world hunger, we’ve found peace among nations, and we’ve solved all of the worlds problems, then and only then shall we rest.
Let’s sieze the semester, and make it the greatest one ever!
(Sorry if this post isn’t what you are used to. I’m getting all crazy watching Obama change the world. Republican or Democrat, we can all agree that just being in this position is a wonderful state for America. )

Hmm, definitly inspired by Obama.
But you are so right, I feel that also many times. When I see my classmates getting low grades, cause they ‘didn’t do enough’ I’m just sort of.. ashamed. Of course, it is their own choice, but when I speak to kids with less brains, who are working the hell out of themselves it just doesn’t seem right.
Inspiring post! Makes you feel so, good to go to school, and to get the full 100% out of it.
Thanks!

Great post! Sometimes the pressure of performing makes me forget why I’m really doing this–to learn, to grow, to better understand the world God created for us to explore and discover.
I see the beginnings of a great orator in you my dear
You know I can honestly say that this was not Obama inspired. I love the way Obama speaks, and after I reread the post it sounded Obama-like, but I hadn’t thought about him while writing it.
I really enjoyed writing this one though! Thanks for the comments guys!
Very inspiring. A joy to read. Thanks
