Ok so I decided to find the Top 10 Reasons to vote for each candidate. For this article, the 10 reasons to vote for Barack Obama I have taken some reasons from my own research and some from other sites. This will give you a little insight into the democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama. I hope you enjoy.
1. Obama knows the social classes: Barack Obama has personal experience with poverty and the growing income gap, having grown up abroad in Indonesia and working as a community organizer in the south side of Chicago
2. Obama cares about the people: After graduating Harvard Law, Magna Cum Laude and president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama could have become a wealthy corporate or trial lawyer but returned to Chicago to practice civil rights law.
3. Obama cares about the world: He has received an A+ score from the Genocide Intervention Network for being a “champion” and taking crucial action to end the genocide in Darfur, co-sponsoring and voting for all significant Darfur legislation.
4. Obama has no ties to big business: He has the broadest base of supporters, has not accepted PAC money and is the least compromised by big money special interests.
5. Obama cares about the environment: He has sponsored, co-sponsored and advocated for significant and realistic legislation to end global warming by capturing and safely disposing carbon dioxide, raising vehicle fuel economy standards and replacing petroleum with home-grown biofuels like cellulosic ethanol.
6. Obama is honest with the people: After 7 years of being lied to by the President and other politicians, we deserve a President who not only tells the truth, but has an outstanding reputation for lifelong honesty, as does Senator Obama. We deserve an honest President.
7. Decisions are made by those who show up: In the last two years, John McCain missed EVERY SINGLE major vote on energy. One vital 2007 bill, to move billions of dollars in tax credits from the oil industry to wind, solar and other clean energy sources, failed by one vote: John McCain’s. Obama and Biden, also running for President, voted for it.
8. Judge him by his friends: Obama chose Joe Biden as his running mate, a politician with the experience he is lacking, and with an outstanding track record for voting with the same ideologies that Obama votes with. When compared to McCain’s choice of running mates, I think its safe to assume that Obama made a more qualified choice.
9. On the day Barack Obama is inaugurated, the world will see a different America. Imagine the symbolism of it. Do not short shrift symbols, for they are very powerful. To be able to point to a President Barack Obama and tell a child of any color anywhere in America that they, too, through education and hard work, could someday be anything they want to be…that’s a powerful thing, especially in our melting-pot nation.
10. Obama inspires people of all ages to action. And while inspiration alone isn’t enough to get the job done, it’s a necessary ingredient to begin the hard work. After sixteen years of Clinton and Bush hyper-partisanship, Obama’s appeal to Americans to have the audacity to hope falls on fertile ground. His unwillingness to cross the line into the dark side of politics has touched a fundamental place in the hearts of many who are eager to believe that the political process is not entirely a cynical joke.

I know this is a personal blog, but the coverage of the two candidates might show slight favoritism…

I know, the blog may seem a little one sided, but I’m a college student. Aren’t we supposed to be opinionated?
Yes do judge him by his friends, Rev Wright where you have to be black to be a member of his church – what about his views on America. Also many of his associates have quite the questionable backgrounds. No ties to big businesses – how about Freddie and Fannie Mac – these have caused the credit problems. A different America – yeah like a France or worse – a Marxist state.
MSG that’s quite a fiery comment buddy.
Are you suggesting that McCain doesn’t have acquaintances that believe different things than he does (or that you don’t for that matter)?
Are you telling me that Obama is tied to big business the way McCain is?
Are you trying to call Obama socialist or marxist, even after McCain pushed so hard to have the government buyout these failing corporations quickly without thinking? Isn’t that socialist?
I find it somewhat dishearting to see people who just run with statements the way you have here, fox news type statements. What do they mean? What are you trying to accomplish here?
If there is a point to the insanity, please express it. I’m hear to listen. Let’s have a dialog!
Of course Obama would be the best choice for America. He would help heal the country, and is a man of peace. Not that I don’t think he’d use the military if he had to, but he wouldn’t lie about it like Bush. I fear McCain supporters. They don’t seem to have a true grasp on the realities of the real problems facing us. The biggest problem is Die Bold election fruad, happenning right now in Va. That’s the republicans for ya.
If any of you have ever seen the movie Brewsters Million he runs a campaign called “None of the Above”. That is how I feel about the two parties that we are electing into our office. Why do we have to vote for the lesser of two evils? They all answer to the global elitist. Ron Paul was the only candidate out there who made any sense whatsoever. It is sad that Obama supporters are now following him blindly like Bush supporters have followed him.
I’m surprised I did not see anything about Ron Paul on your site, especially for a college student. If I did please let me know. Do some research on him. Its hard to argue against a guy who would close the IRS the next day. That is unless you like paying taxes? Do you?
