The University of Glasgow

Introduction:

So you’ve gotten into college, and you have a couple weeks till it starts.  You don’t know what to do, and you are probably a little freaked out.  Well not to worry, because here at Zen College Life you’ll find the perfect way to start off your college career right. We’ll start off with the basics and work our way through some of the details.  Buckle up guys, this ride could get bumpy!

The transition from high school to college is like the transition from childhood to adulthood.  It’s going to be full of crazy new experiences, fantastic amounts of freedom, and a couple of awkward moments here and there.  Overall it is going to be a life changing, or life shaping event.

To minimize the negative experiences and maximize the positive ones, it is imperative that we visualize, plan, organize, and create a successful environment for our college experience.  It is only in this manner that we can expect to fully experience everything that college has to offer (and I’m not talking just talking about class).  From study time to Frat/Sorority parties, planning and understanding what to expect can really shape your college life into something meaningful and even spiritual.

So here is an overview of this series:

Part 1: Visualization - The key to real success lies in visualizing success beforehand.

Part 2: Planning and Organizing – In order to get things done and really be efficient with your time, planning and organizing will become your 2 best friends.

Part 3: Creating Successful Environment - To make the most of your experience and master your classes you will need to create an environment that stimulates success.

Part 4: Tips and Tricks - A handful of tips that have really boosted my college experience.

If at any time throughout the series you have any questions or tips you’d like to share, Let this be your mural. Paint away in the comment section, other readers will be glad you did!

I’m glad you enjoy the blog tiger. At the advice of a friend I decided to write this series, which will be very useful to upcoming freshman. I know I’m cutting it a little close, time wise, but I’m sure it will still help. Thanks for the kind words!
