Finals are here. The end is near. But to get through it, and be efficient, we must make the most of our study time. Once it’s over, we’re free. So with that in mind, grab your books, get your gear, head to your library, and pound out a couple of hours of good ole fashion studying, using these techniques for making the most of your study breaks without letting your brain go to sleep.
So without further ado, I present to you my list of things to do during study breaks:
- Take a walk
- Stretch
- Exercise
- Listen to audiobooks (it stimulates your auditory learning skills)
- Play an instrument (I love playing my guitar during study breaks)
- Eat a healthy snack (fruit, granola, yogurt, or even a powerbar)
- If you must watch tv, make it edutainment (like Planet Earth, or a documentary)
- Read a book for pleasure
- Work a puzzle or brain teaser
- Meditate, or pray (not just for hippies anymore)
- Concentrate on your breathing
- Have a cup of green tea
- Do your nails (at least that’s what Bushra and Ayesha do)
And now the things not to do:
- Eat a big meal
- take a nap
- drink a lot of caffeine
- talk on the phone
- get on facebook or myspace
- watch tv
- drugs (That’s right, don’t do drugs)
- Play dirty little pranks on your friends while they are studying.
Well that’s about all I have for now. What do you do during your study breaks? Leave a comment and let us know!
