The fastest way to turn your life around for the better is to get fit. Getting fit will make you healthier, stronger, more confident, more attractive, happier, and improve your mental processes. Being on a fitness/nutrition kick, I have decided to compose a set of tips to make your new fitness plans work even better. Whether you are out of shape or in the best shape of your life, I think there is something hear that we can all learn from these tips.

  1. Visualize each workout before you start. Imagine the sweat, the burn, the movements. Imagine the fat melting off of your body; the muscles toning and flexing. Imagine your perfect body before each workout, and when you start that workout, move closer to the image of the perfect you.
  2. Keep a fitness journal. Write in it after every workout. How long you did each type of workout. How many calories burned. How you feel afterwards. Where you need improvement, etc.
  3. Talk to people. Tell people what you’re doing. Talk about how it makes you feel. Brag about your successes so far. Your friends are the best motivation when you aren’t feeling on top of your game.
  4. Read Success Stories. Nothing is as impressive as hearing the incredibly inspirational stories of what other people have done and how they did it.
  5. Take a break. Take a break from all of the work you do to get that perfect body. Now I am not talking about eating a cake, but a smaller reward every once in a while makes that victory taste even sweeter!
  6. Contemplate. Exercise is time that is only for you. Take that same time to think about things that you don’t have time for in your hustle and bustle daily life. With all of that blood flowing you are bound to come up with some ideas you normally wouldn’t have.
  7. Take Pictures. Nobody else has to see them, but there is nothing more inspirational than results on paper. When you see it, it is real.
  8. a Walkathon, Triathlon, 5k. Just sign up, and you will be motivated to train for it.
  9. Set goals. Make reasonable goals and work towards them. Start small, and as you achieve those smaller goals it will make the larger goals seem easier to achieve.
  10. Motivational Quotes. Print them out. Hang them up. Frame them. Do whatever it takes to see them every day. Make them a staple in your life.
  11. Read, Read, Read. Nothing is more motivating then learning a new routine, or reading about the best way to ____________. Want some extra push motivation? Read about someone who does best exactly what you want to do.

What helps you stick with your fitness/nutrition plan? I’d love to hear from you, so leave a comment!
